Stand at the polls with us

More than half of this race is decided during early voting, and most of those voters have not heard of the Board of Education contest until they are in line. A friendly face with a card changes that. Pick the blocks you can cover; we handle the rest.

What it involves

Four hours, a stack of cards, and a smile

Say hello

Stand outside the voting site, offer a card, and give the one-line ask. Most people take it. Some want to talk; most are on their way in.

Keep it friendly

No arguing, no following anyone, no blocking the path. If somebody does not want a card, wish them a good day. You are the campaign to everyone who sees you.

Keep us posted

You get your own page with a check-in button and a report button. If anything on the line looks wrong, tell HQ from there and we will route it.

The one rule that matters.
  • Every voting site has a marked no-campaigning line outside it, set by the county board of elections. Stay behind it, always. The site lead will show you where it is.
  • Election officials run everything inside. If a voter asks you about their ballot, their registration, or the machines, send them to the officials at the door; do not guess.
  • If you see something that worries you, do not confront anyone. Report it from your page, or call the site lead, and let HQ take it from there.
  • Bring water, a chair if you want one, and something warm. We supply the cards.
